Back in time…
During my workout this morning, I found myself reflecting on my past, particularly my high school years. I remembered my shy, secure, and somewhat lonely self. The truth is, socializing has always been a challenge for me, a hurdle I’ve yet to overcome fully.
My first friend was Natalie, who took the initiative to approach me. She saw past my shyness and befriended me, and for that, I’ll always be grateful. After Natalie moved on, I found companionship with Rachele and Phanane. And I was thinking just how crucial they were in shaping my life. We shared countless moments together, creating memories that are now an integral part of my past. They not only provided companionship but also contributed significantly to my emotional growth. The friendships forged during my adolescent years truly hold a unique and irreplaceable place in my heart.
As we grow older and transition into the realm of adulthood, responsibilities like starting a family often steal away the time we once spent with friends, and this inevitable drift can lead us to grow apart. But this morning, I was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having known them. If you ever come across this post, thank you for the wonderful times. I love you.
As Valentine’s Day dawns tomorrow, I encourage you to expand your thoughts beyond romantic love. Celebrate those who stood by you during pivotal moments in your life, those who made you feel seen, heard, and supported. Take a moment to reach out and express your love or gratitude.
Again, I share my reflections to remind you that you’re not alone on this journey we call life. Until next time, love, Katursia.
